Birthing From Within

When preparing to begin a journey, it is useful to know a bit more about what your investment of time, energy, and money might be. In order to help you plan and budget, we have prepared this fee schedule for you. While our programs are more costly than most other certification programs, we feel that we have so much more to offer!

About Dues: Annual dues of $100 are due on February 1 of each year. A $25 late fee is assessed after that date. Your first year or partial year of dues is included in your enrollment fee. If your Intro workshop is before June 30, then your dues are included through the end of that calendar year. If your workshop is after June 30, then the following year's dues are included as well.

Mentor Certification Program
Complete Mentor Program Fee: $1350
The Complete Mentor Program Fee includes all the items below (including two years’ worth of annual dues).

We offer a payment plan, so that you can pay-as-you-go:
Program Enrollment Fee: $325 (must be paid AFTER attending an Intro Workshop)
This initial fee includes your first year of dues, plus all the benefits listed here.
Materials Fee ("Goody Box"): $117 (includes 10% Mentor discount)
Annual Dues: $100
Advanced Retreat: $800-900
Certification Fee: $150

Doula Certification Program
Program Enrollment Fee (includes first year of dues): $325 (must be paid AFTER attending an Intro Workshop)
Annual Dues: $100
Certification Fee: $100

Mentor + Doula Certification Program
Program Enrollment Fee (includes first year of dues): $425 (must be paid AFTER attending an Intro Workshop)
Annual Dues: $100
Doula Certification Fee: $100
Plus additional Mentor Program fees:
Advanced Training Workshop: $800-900
Mentor Certification Fee: $150

Additional option:
Complete Mentor+Doula Program Fee: $1450
(Includes all the items in the Complete Mentor Program and the doula enrollment fee. You must still pay the Doula Certification Fee of $100 when submitting your completed packet, and dues beyond the first two years.)

Workshop fees may vary, and do not include travel or accommodations.
Enrollment fee and all enrollment materials must be received within three months after workshop.
Annual membership dues must be received by February 1 of every year. First year's dues are included in initial enrollment fee.
“Goody Box” includes: Birth Tiger, Chimes, Lucy Sculpture (signed limited edition), Next Best Thing Game, "The Elk and the Epidural" video/DVD, and a Birth Fairy.
An introduction workshop may be repeated at a 50% discount, but the repeated course must be attended within 3 years of completion of the original course. (Current BFW members are always given the 50% discount when repeating a course.)

In order to reduce costs, many Mentors find that they can buy their books used (online or locally), borrow from the library or from colleagues, or set up book-exchanges with other Mentors.
