About   the   Schedule: 
While we strive to follow the schedule above, due to the interactive, dynamic, and individual nature of our workshops, our Facilitators, and our participants, we cannot guarantee it!  It is important that each session begins and ends on time. You must commit to attending the entire workshop from start to finish. Participants who arrive late or leave early will not receive everything they need to understand and use BIRTHING FROM WITHIN^®'s philosophy and processes, and may not be allowed to enroll in our Certification Programs. Please allow enough time for all personal and travel needs so that you can be present for the entire workshop.

Due to the intense nature of the training, and out of respect for other participants, babies and children cannot be allowed in the workshop room during workshop sessions.  We do not provide childcare. If you have a nursing child, you may nurse during morning and afternoon breaks and during mealtimes, and of course you may express your milk as needed.  Thank you for your understanding. Family members and/or friends who are not registered for the workshop are not allowed in workshop sessions at any time.

A late registration fee of $50 applies for all registrations not paid in full by May 16, 2008.

Preparing   for   the  Workshop: 
Our workshop is being held at the Hampton Inn & Suites, Minneapolis/St Paul Airport-Mall of America, 2680 Metro Drive, Bloomington, Minnesota, 55425. Phone: 952-854-7600. Details about accommodations at the hotel are at the bottom of this letter.

Familiarizing yourself with the BIRTHING FROM WITHIN philosophy and approach will help you get more out of the workshop. To prepare for the workshop, please read the book BIRTHING FROM WITHIN, by Pam England, visit our website (especially the articles!), sign up to receive our online newsletter, and listen to the Intro CD (arriving by mail) prior to attending.  Also, bring writing materials, a journal (you will receive a workbook, hand-outs and a Keepsake Journal at the workshop) and a box of eight soft chalk pastels. (Do not get oil pastels or cheap waxy hard pastels, as they do not work the same at all.) Art paper will be provided. Bring a camera if you like. If you have any professional/promotional materials you wish to share, please bring copies for your colleagues. They will be displayed on June 8.

About  our  Mentor  &  Doula   Certification  Programs:
This workshop provides you with a great start for mentoring and doulaing in the BIRTHING FROM WITHIN style. There is no obligation to enroll in our unique Certification Programs after the workshop. If you want to call your classes “BIRTHING FROM WITHIN” or call yourself a “BIRTHING FROM WITHIN” Mentor and/or Doula, then you must be enrolled in one or both of our Certification Programs. The cost to enroll in one program is $325; the cost to enroll in both is $425. These fees are in addition to the workshop fees. In order to become a Certified Mentor, you must complete the Beginning Home Study, attend an Advanced Workshop, and complete the Advanced Home Study. In order to become a Certified Doula, you must complete the Doula HomeStudy and Certification requirements. Travel:  Participants are responsible for making their own travel arrangements.
The nearest airport is MPLS/St. Paul International Lindberg, about 4 miles away. There is a free 24-hour airport shuttle to the hotel. From downtown Minneapolis, take 35W South 8 miles to I-494 East to 24th Ave. South on 24th Ave .25 miles to American Blvd. East on American Blvd .25 miles to Metro Drive. Hotel is on the left. Accommodations:  Participants are responsible for making their own accommodations arrangements..
We have reserved a block of rooms at The Hampton Inn and Suites, which will be held until May 23. The prices are as follows (not including taxes): $109 for a standard king of double room; $209 for a 1 bedroom suite. When you register, you will receive a hotel discount code. Meals:  Participants are responsible for their own meals.
Birthing  From  Within provides light snacks and beverages (including tea, coffee and water) during the workshop. You are responsible for your own meals. You are welcome to bring your own snacks, especially if you have special dietary needs. There are several restaurants within walking distance.

Cancellation Policy: If you will be unable to attend this workshop for any reason, please contact our office as soon as possible. We often have a waiting list. If you cancel more than 14 days before the date of the workshop, your fee is refundable, less a $50 administration fee, or you can choose to have your complete balance applied as a credit toward any other BFW workshop within one year. If you cancel less than 14 days before the workshop date, your registration fee is NOT refundable. You will be issued a credit of your balance, less a $50 administrative fee.
