Learn about the causes of and solutions for emotional birth trauma in this four-week distance course (conference calls, online forum, and readings/assignments), led by Pam England and Virginia Bobro. You will be introduced to Birthing From Within's unique perspective and approach to understanding and healing difficult, disappointing, or traumatic births, including the "seeds" of trauma and the nine "birth story gates." You will also get support and tools for integrating your own experiences with birth (as a mother or as a professional).
We have split our popular online course into two parts, in order to better serve our students.
Part 1 is a stand-alone course. It includes four weeks of instruction, assignments, and conference calls, and access to class discussion forum. For students who successfully complete Part 1 and want more in-depth support and training in the BFW birth story process, a limited number of students from Part 1 are invited and approved for Part 2. We highly recommend that if you are interested to doing the full course, that you register for both parts together, as Part 2 enrollment is limited, and demand exceeds available space. We cannot guarantee space in the following Part 2, and you may be placed on a wait-list for a later Part 2.
Part 2 immediately follows, and includes five more conference calls, reading & assignments, student forum, plus a private 30-minute phone/Skype session with Pam or Virginia, and detailed feedback on your two recorded sessions. Part 1 is a prerequisite for Part 2, however, you may enroll only in Part 1, if you like. There is no requirement to continue.
The day/time listed for each session is the mandatory class time, in Pacific (California) time. Do not sign up for the course if you cannot commit to that day/time. Weekly calls are approx. 75-90 minutes long. While calls are recorded for students' future reference, attending calls is a requirement of the course. Check the time in your time-zone. All homework assignments are due 24 hours prior to the live call. Please plan accordingly.
Part 1: October 10 to November 7, 2016 (4 calls: last call on October 31) - FULL - WAIT LIST
Part 2: January 9 to February 6, 2017 (5 calls: last call on February 6) - FULL - WAIT LIST

You can register for Part 2 any time (prior to or during Part 1). However, only students who fully participate and satisfactorily complete all assignments in Part 1, will be permitted to attend Part 2. The Part 2 fee will be refunded in full (no penalty) if you do not continue on to Part 2 (for whatever reason).
Cancellation policy: $50 admin fee is assessed for those canceling more than 48 hours prior to the start of the course (Part 1). No credits or refunds will be given with less than 48 hours' notice of cancellation.
