"Labyrinth of Birth" Webinar   $0.00

Front_labyrinth_cover
REGISTRATION FOR THIS WEBINAR IS NOW CLOSED.
Stay tuned for our next offering!

This 90-minute webinar, led by Pam England (author of "Labyrinth of Birth" and "BIRTHING FROM WITHIN"), will introduce you to the labyrinth of birth.

During this special interactive presentation, you will fall in love with the ancient universal symbol of the Labyrinth as a map for the childbearing year.

What IS a Labyrinth? How do you draw one? How is it relevant to childbirth preparation? All this, and much much more, will be covered in this live multi-media  class with Pam.

In this webinar, you will see labyrinths from around the world, as well as ones that Pam and parents have made. Pam will explain a bit about the history of labyrinths, and show you, step-by-step, how to draw one. You will also learn how to use the labyrinth as a way to prepare for and cope with the intensity and unknowns of birth. Parents in our classes love to make them and rave about how much their labyrinths helped them in labor. It is optional (but recommended) that you read the "Labyrinth of Birth" before our gathering. You can buy it online, order it from your local bookstore, or purchase it through our website.

If you are a pregnant woman or couple, consider this a personal class with Pam England in her living room. Enter into her exploration of the Labyrinth of Birth and enrich your preparation for birth. Birth professionals and anyone interested in the power of the childbearing year are also welcome to attend!

Space is limited: sign-up now to save your spot!

Register in advance by paying $5 through this store page. Due to the low cost, we cannot offer refunds or credits. If the webinar is postponed or cancelled by BIRTHING FROM WITHIN, we will issue you a credit. We are not responsible for any problems or questions you have with your technology or access; all tech issues must be addressed through our webinar service.

"Next Best Thing" Game   $20.00

Nbt_game

**SALE** (regularly $24.95)

A lively game of preparation and final review for expectant parents, childbirth classes and doulas.
This Game Teaches, Reviews and Reinforces:
-The practice of embracing what is
-Assessing (not judging) the situation
-A solution-focused mindset (rather than a problem- or avoidance-focused mindset)
-Considering all possible solutions from cards held in their hands (ranging from common sense, parent-can-do solutions to what the medical model might offer)
-Finally, doing what needs to be done next...without striving for a particular outcome.

Labor and postpartum situations presented in this game are mostly ordinary and always brief; there are no happy or sad endings to any of the scenarios that would suggest that "choices" made by the players lead them to achieve a desired outcome. The situations presented are created in part by the childbirth teacher/mentor and partly by the random drawing of face-down Birth Fairy and Time cards.

The cards are printed in color on sturdy glossy card stock, 2.75" x 4.75", and fit in a black 5x7" draw-string velour bag. Each of the 141 "Next Best Thing" cards belongs to one of the following categories:
  1. Things Parents Can Do ( e.g., Drink Fluids, Walk)
  2. Medical Support (e.g., IV, Pitocin)
  3. Birth Fairy (situations that arise, e.g., Water Breaks)
  4. Time (e.g. An Hour Later)
This game was conceived of and illustrated by Pam England.     Add To Cart
