Virginia Bobro is the Senior Workshop Facilitator and Managing Director of BIRTHING FROM WITHIN®. She has been involved with BFW on many levels since 2002: teaching classes to expectant parents, counseling new mothers, and training and supporting birth professionals. In 2004, Pam England invited Virginia to enter into the "Buffalo Circle" as an Advisor to women in the Mentor Certification Program. Ever since, Pam and Virginia have become great friends and now co-own Birthing From Within LLC. They work closely together to oversee every aspect of BFW: workshops, programs, and business development; writing articles and books; traveling and leading trainings together; attending ongoing professional development courses; and much more! Since 2006, Virginia has been leading the Mentor/Doula Trainings ("Level One," or "Introduction to Mentoring" workshops) around the US, Canada, UK, Israel, and Australia. As of January 2012, she has led more than 45 of these intensive three-day workshops, training and supporting over a thousand nurses, midwives, doulas, therapists, and childbirth educators. Virginia lives in Santa Barbara, California, with her husband and three teenagers. Locally, she teaches childbirth classes, leads Birth Story Circles, attends births as a doula, and counsels breastfeeding mothers. She is also on the Advisory Board of the Santa Barbara Birth Center (opened in November 2011). Her other passions include modern quilting, writing, art and photography.
