Member Call: The Three Ways of Knowing: How to Find Balance Between Embodied Wisdom and Information

In today’s information-heavy world, birth preparation often centers on facts, research, and planning — what we call Modern Knowing. But as many of us have witnessed, facts alone cannot carry someone through the mystery, intensity, and transformation of birth.

In this call, we’ll explore the Three Ways of Knowing

  • Intuitive Knowing: the instinctive, embodied wisdom we carry within

  • Modern Knowing: the facts, data, and intellectual understanding we gather

  • Inner Knowing: the personal reflections, emotions, and meanings shaped by our life stories

Together, we’ll reflect on how these ways of knowing show up in our own birth work, how they interact in our clients' decision-making, and how we can support a more balanced, whole-person approach to preparation, birth, and postpartum.
